Hand 1) fold, you're healthy and can't really hope to better than a coin flip

Hand 2) i call, you're not nearly as deep anymore and this looks like a good spot to try and double up. You are also more likely to be ahead of his range here given the larger blinds.

I presto fold in both case.

2nd hand BB is 100, right ? You really need a read that he push more than 88+ AQ, AJs, here. Usually you need KK+ to call something like a 20 BB push.

But hero only has 14 BBs. I also take into account the fact that the table is still eight handed and future stealing oppurtunities may be sparse.

The guy who pushed was very active in late position and I felt ak was probably ahead of his range here. I was also getting quite short with 14 bbs and blinds were up in 3 minutes. I ended up calling as I thought this was as good an opportunity to double up as i could get at the time. He showed 44 and I lost. I dont like calling off all my chips here with AK though, do most people think its a case of waiting and trying to get chips in first here?

To be clearer, the good / bad call chage really quick depending on pusher range. It's neutral EV at 7.5% (88+,AJ+,ATs+). If he is tighter, this is horrible.

It is +1%$EV if he is pushing more than 15% (like it seems to be the case).

In these kind of situation I like to wait. Note that you're not desesperate.

I fully agree with a longer structure but in a couple of hands
the blind increase will give me only 7 bbs and at an 8 handed table it looks like im going to have to find a genuine hand pretty soon. Does this change anything in your eyes? (im pretty new to sngs in case that didint show :-)
