I Go Chop Your Dollar
So I was flipping channels last night, and 20/20 was doing a segment on Nigerian scams. Among other things, they showed a heart surgeon who spent several hundred thousand dollars for cleaning "black money" - that is, money that had supposedly been dyed black for smuggling purposes, but in fact was a briefcase of construction paper. Wow.
At one point, though, the host mentioned that these kind of scams have become well commented on in Nigerian pop culture, and then showed a snippet of a Nigerian musical video entitled "I Go Chop Your Dollar," featuring dramatizations of dudes getting scammed. Here is a link to a Youtube video of the song. Not too many great screen caps, here's one: About a minute and a half into the video is pretty representative: "I go chop your dollar I go take your money ??? 419 is ???? You are the loser, I am the winner." The song is pretty catchy. I've been burning with an urge to start saying this to people at the poker tables. |

[/ QUOTE ] pretty sure its "I go chop your dollar I go make (could be take) your money dissapear 419 is just a game You are the loser, I am the winner." I guess 419 is the number of the statute prohibiting financial fraud by misrepresentation in Nigeria |

Re: I Go Chop Your Dollar
I saw this last night too. My favorite part was the guy in the black construction paper scam who started crying...
My new life goal is to scam a Nigerian scammer. |
