Three-way all in?
Say you're on the button in the middle stages of a tournament with an M of 5 and you hold a good but not great hand like KQs. In front of you, one of the other shortstacks, who has about the same number of chips as you, goes all in and a big stack calls. Do you get out of the way or do you push?
Basically, is it better in the long run to have a small chance to triple-up or wait for a better chance to double up? |

Re: Three-way all in?
fold because KQ sucks........and in reguards to your second question, the two are equal

Re: Three-way all in?
Best case scenario is going to be KQ up against A-x and A-x where x is less than a Q, you have about a 40% chance to win and triple your M to 15.
Againist two smaller pocket pairs you have about 37-38% chance of winning, and having an M of 15. Another example with KQs up aganist a mid pp and Ak (or AQ), you have about a 25% chance to win the pot and triple up. You are also about 25% to beat Ak (or Q) and A-x where x is less than a Q. If you wait and get into 2 coin flips you will have a 25% chance to win both and have an M of 20. With an M of 5 I would probably push and hope I have the best of it in the end. With an M of say 10 i would probably fold and wait for a better spot. |

Re: Three-way all in?
I fold this. Good chance your dominated, a little chance you're flipping. In general, I push with KQ with an M of 5 at a full table if:
1. I'm in middle position or later 2. There has been no more then 2 limpers 3. No one has raised the pot I play $5 and less tourneys, so often you have little FE. Usually an Ax, KT, PP are good enough hands to call an all in. |
