Typical spot with QQ in 3bet pot
Villain : 21-17 regular. He 3bets decent amount but nothing crazy. Certainly not BLD wannabe type.
I have Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in MP and raise to $24. He repops to $74 which is more or less standard. I call (good / bad ? ). I think its standard so far. Flop : T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Pot : $155 I check he cbets $110. I think he always does. Your line and plan ? I have no other reads so try to pretend you are in that spot. Please no "soo read dependant" answers EDIT : stacks 100BB |

Re: Typical spot with QQ in 3bet pot
First, I re-reraise prob 40% of the time with QQ in this spot, pre-flop.
But when i smooth call like this, I lead out 50% and check 50%. If I check, I am looking for a read on the guy (you don't like to hear it, but you need to). Mostly reraise, lay down about 20% of the time. A Jack heart turn would be amazing for you... |

Re: Typical spot with QQ in 3bet pot
I'm convinced this spot is always very marginal EV vs an unknown, I'd usually c/r ai this flop. Drier flop sometimes c/c and re-evaluate turn.

Re: Typical spot with QQ in 3bet pot
i dont think the call pre isnt that bad.. but from your description of the hand it seems like you're unsure of villain's 3-bet range.. the problem w/ that is spots exactly like this.. where the only c/r you can do is puting your whole stack in basically.. but i think thats probably a good move if you think he'll basically always c-bet after he 3-bets PF.
i dont hate a flop donk bet if you feel hes strong and you can fold to a push. i find that at mid-stakes people tend to c-bet when checked to them far too often and i think you can c/r AI here and its a very profitable situation. |

Re: Typical spot with QQ in 3bet pot
I'm assuming this is $3/$6?
I think you can make a strong case for a preflop push. As played, I go ahead and shove the flop. There are a lot of cards that can make your life miserable and there is enough money in the pot to make it worth protecting. |

Re: Typical spot with QQ in 3bet pot
For this sim I just picked a few SCs to put in his range to try to get them weighted sorta right.
Board: Td 9h 7h Dead: equity (%) win (%) tie (%) Hand 1: 56.9914 % 55.75% 01.24% { QcQh } Hand 2: 43.0086 % 41.77% 01.24% { 66+, AJs+, KQs, JTs, 98s, 76s, AQo+ } Then add the Jh on the turn: Board: Td 9h 7h Jh Dead: equity (%) win (%) tie (%) Hand 1: 56.8950 % 55.93% 00.97% { QcQh } Hand 2: 43.1050 % 42.14% 00.97% { 66+, AJs+, KQs, JTs, 98s, 76s, AQo+ } We lose .1% equity there... so not hardly the worst card in the deck. An offsuit ace looks a wee bit worse: Board: Td 9h 7h As Dead: equity (%) win (%) tie (%) Hand 1: 36.8248 % 36.10% 00.72% { QcQh } Hand 2: 63.1752 % 62.45% 00.72% { 66+, AJs+, KQs, JTs, 98s, 76s, AQo+ Oh and if we remove KQs from his range then a Jh on the turn takes us from 56.6% equity to 57.8%. |

[/ QUOTE ] wtf [/ QUOTE ] Don't you agree that if we are ahead, the jack of hearts either beats us or kills any action we might get with the lead? Or are we behind here so often that we are looking to pick up some draws to help us win? |

Re: Typical spot with QQ in 3bet pot
Improving from a two outer to possibly a fifteen outer is v good for us.
