Re: Most shocking/unbelievable finishes you saw
How is this better than Reggie Miller in the playoffs, other than it's not -- 8 pts in 9 seconds to win the game including stealing the ball himself?
How is this better than Marvin O'Connor scoring 19 points in the final <1 minute to beat La Salle? Yes, 19. Naj |

Re: Most shocking/unbelievable finishes you saw
Best finish I've seen LIVE
Pittsburgh University @ Ohio University Sept 9th, 2005 Ohio football is traditionally TERRIBLE, Pitt started the season ranked 23rd and just lost to Notre Dame. Pitt was overrated last year though because they ended up with a bad record. ESPN 2 friday night game, Sold out OU stadium and it was a close game all the way through. 10-10 at the end of regulation - OU's only TD was on an pick-6 INT return. Game goes into Overtime and Pitt gets the ball first. Same player for Ohio gets an interception and returns it for a TD again. 25,000 pour out onto the field. I actually have one of the end-zone Pilons(sp?) from that game. |

Kirk Gibson clearly qualifies, although we should probably disallow all illegal plays like Nebraska and USSR gold medal game [and the Cal runner was clearly down as well.] [/ QUOTE ] what was illegal about nebraska/missouri?? and i'll have to watch cal/stanford more carefully... probably not supposed to be a band on the field (and i'm sure there were cal people on the field somewhere too) |

St JOe's, I hear ya.
I think most people have seen the highlights of the Reggie Miller Knicks game, esp if they are putting up McGrady. Don't you? |

Re: Most shocking/unbelievable finishes you saw
My personal favorite (being a Denver Broncos fan) was when Elway and Denver came back from down 21-6 at home in the playoffs against Houston. They wound up having to convert several fourth downs in the 4th quarter (I think they're may have been 3 total), and the defense had to stop Houston from running out the clock and get the ball back, which they did after the Oilers tried to burn them with a pass which was incomplete and stopped the clock. Then they got the ball back at their own 2 (a la the Drive) down 21-20, and Elway drove them for the winning FG, converting I think two of the 3 4th downs on the final drive.

I'm a homer
2005 NCAA regional final between Illinois and Arizona I've never been in a stadium that bananas, and I've been to quite a few big sporting events. |

This probably qualifies in the top 100 and no more, but it makes me laugh hysterically even now because nobody likes a smart ass.
