Re: easy fold or we see sd?
This is a tough spot. Your flop play looks like an overpair (QQ/KK), not AK. Button could be floating with middle pair, or you could be chopping. I'd see a showdown. You're likely beaten by a hand like 99 or 55 (a good player cold-calling this flop is very often a set), but for 2 more BBs, I think I see a showdown and hope to chop or pick him off. If he does have the set, chalk up the info and move on.
Also, this depends on the location (live? online?) and the stakes. |

Re: easy fold or we see sd?
there is no reasonable draw on this board. he has a set just about every time.
i really hate the flop raise. |

Re: easy fold or we see sd?
what does he cc twice (and then raise) with that doesn't destroy you?
that board and turn play seems to scream set. unless theres some background story that we should know about this is a fold i think. |

i really hate the flop raise. [/ QUOTE ] why? if you didnt raise the flop you'd have even less of an idea of where you're at in this hand. not to mention a solid player calling two cold on the button with this type of raggedy board? what if you just called the crappy player? that sounds like an even worse play. i like his line so far. i probably check/call the turn, because lets face it, what solid player cc's two cold on the flop and then doesnt show aggression on the next street without EXACTLY a missed straight draw. it's easy to say he has a set, fold. which is very likely, but would this solid player do this move with 99-QQ sometimes? 78s? etc. |

Re: easy fold or we see sd?
a solid player having TT-QQ or 78s here is basically impossible. I know our hand looks pretty but some basic handreading should tell us we're boned IMO.

[/ QUOTE ] well.. we were in trouble until the river. but i think the biggest points to look at are: A. what does a solid player call two cold on the button with here? B. does he recognize the posssiblity that you are raising a weak player with position. C. what does that tell him about our hand range. D. does he need a set or a T to do this? |

Re: easy fold or we see sd?
IMO, I haven't played limit in a while...
A. 55-99, maybe 22-44 as well. maybe something QJs-ish, though I personally would fold it. not sure. B & C - if he thought we were isolating, he would three bet more hands preflop IMO instead of calling more. D. IMO yes...what else could he have? I can't put him on AK because he smoothcalled pf, and I can't put him on AQ/AJ because he folds the flop with those IMO. there is a small chance you're getting played by TT/88/77, but you have represented strength every step of the way, does he expect us to fold or call? |
