Default how do you answer this question online

When you are doing well, up a bunch at a couple tables, or even just have a few buyins on one table, and someone asks "how much you are up tonight?"
I dodged as much as I could, but when pressed, I said "only a little more than I lost last night", which wasn't true, but bought me some time. He kept pressing, but I just didn't answer.

Maybe it wouldn't, idk. I just built up a decent rapport with him, empathizing with his bad "luck", so I didn't think stopping to talk was the best play.
