Help a newbie to online sports betting (Miss St and the points)
After years of betting with a local bookie and banging my head against a wall, I am experimenting with betting offshore this season. The season hasn't even started and I face a conundrum.
I like Miss St with the points tonight. Pinnacle has it at +7 and putting up 105 to win 100. BoDog as is their custom is shading the favorite and has Miss St. at 7.5 but you have to lay 115. I never had these dillemas when I bet with Sal the Chin. So my question is this: Is $10 in juice worth a half point? My gut tells me no. Take the nickel odds at Pinnacle but if someone has math or logic to back this up, I would appreciate it. |

The Gamecocks cover either way.
I have SC -7 at Bodog -110 but I did it earlier in the week. -SFWUSC |

Is $10 in juice worth a half point? [/ QUOTE ] From 7 to 7.5 is worth it. 3 to 3.5 or 2.5 to 3 worth it even more so. Other numbers mostly not worth it. |

[/ QUOTE ] Thank you for the response. I figured there was some value in getting the number off the seven, I wasn't sure how much. But I can see how with other numbers it doesn't make sense.
