2.5 barrels OOP party 3/6
Villian in this hand is 24/17 with an att. steal blinds at 35. We have almost no history. Effective stacks at 500.
Villian raises to 24 on the button (standard), I make it 88 from the SB with A6o. Villian calls. Flop is 24T with 2 spades. I lead 3/4 pot villian lets timer drop to 3 and calls. Turn is an offsuit 8. I go all in for about pot. |

Re: 2.5 barrels OOP party 3/6
Gross.
Preflop, at least take something playable if you want to resteal from him - SCs, suited ace, low pairs. A6o has no value at all, except to hit trip 6s. Turn is interesting, because of the timer. But i think that he either ran down his timer because he had a monster, or he ran it down because he was deciding whether he was willing to go the whole way with his hand, more often than when he runs down his timer and decides to back off on the turn. Generally with borderline hands if people run their timers down they fold because they know it will look weak; when they call, beware. So i give up on the turn. |

Re: 2.5 barrels OOP party 3/6
Are his stats datamined? What's his WSD?
If this is the first pot you've ever 3-bet him pre-flop then your line is probably marginally +EV and even if you get called it's a great image booster. |

Re: 2.5 barrels OOP party 3/6
is pf really OK? Assume on the turn his range is 3xAA 6xKK 6xQQ 6xJJ and 3xTT
HE would have to ALWAYS fold QQ+JJ for this to be 0 EV. Its -EV at best, total spew at worst. |

Re: 2.5 barrels OOP party 3/6
i'm pretty new to NL after playing a lot of limit and from my brief experience, isn't blind defense pretty useless in deep stack NL, as the blinds are such a small percentage of the total pot and stacks. It seems like you don't give up much letting him take your blinds here. There are plenty of places to show you won't be run over

is pf really OK? Assume on the turn his range is 3xAA 6xKK 6xQQ 6xJJ and 3xTT [/ QUOTE ] If this is his turn range then the preflop/flop combo is hugely +ev. Here is my thinking: he's opening about 37% otb (ATS is co and button, so im thinking 33 from co and 37 from btn), lets say he drops about 3/4 of these to my raise. My raise is then immediately +ev (risking 85 to win 33), even if i open folded the flop (And ignoring the bb, who was tight). For reference, 22+,A2s+,K4s+,Q5s+,J7s+,T7s+,97s+,87s,A4o+,K7o+,Q9 o+,J9o+,T9o is 37% of hands, and 1/4 of this, or 9.5% is 66+,ATs+,KJs+,QTs+,JTs,AQo+,KQo. So using this flop range, a C-bet is clearly +ev. Now the tricky part is the turn... If you widen the preflop call range, the cbet will make up for the lost ev. If you narrow the preflop range, the flop cbet will still prolly be +ev and preflop will be hugely +ev. I shoved the turn because I went through these ranges and decided he wouldnt play so exploitably on preflop and flop, so decided his range was wider, and shoved. I'm beginning to think this was my only mistake in the hand. Its retarded to say every street here is wrong. This is impossible. |
