Re: Bad spot for a c-bet...
9 T J with two hearts
draw heavy board and likely to hit most anything that would call you except an underpair or AQ and AQ even has an open ender. I dont hate the cbet but i dont do it as often on boards such as this one. Personally i slow down anytime a JT flops and i dont get a piece, provided i dont have reads, but i still suck so i dunno if that is a good one. |

Either fire more on the flop or c/f it.

Re: Bad spot for a c-bet...
The texture of this flop allows for lots of draws and made hands. Probably a good spot to fire once on the flop and give up if you're met with any resistance.
I'd suggest betting a little more on the flop and fold if he shows any strength. I think your weak lead out might have given him incentive to put in the infamous "I minraise you to see where you're at!" play... He could likely have nothing... he could have a huge hand... but he definitely has position and, obviously, the best of you in this hand. You can pick better spots to get invovled with your chipstack. Why call the minraise on the flop? You might have 3 outs... you might have 10... but you really don't know where you stand here. Do you really want to see a king or ace come off on the turn? You're hoping for an offsuit queen at best here because you could be reverse dominated already. So many hands in his range have you beat or drawing thin that I don't even see a need to call the flop minraise. As played, fold and move on. |

Re: Bad spot for a c-bet...
That flop bet is really weak, and then you called the stupid little min-raise. Bet 500-600 on the flop and fold to resistance. Like said above, c-betting into a JTx flop is generally not a good idea, it will save you chips in the long run.
