One sort of expects that from a Randroid, but nevertheless, I gotta agree with the old maxim: If my Grandma's at the table, I'm trying to bust her.

if i knew someone was no match for me in any sport i wouldnt have the heart to continue pounding on them.
theres plenty of competition out there.
find someone you feel you cant beat, then try to destroy them.

DOG!

Bow your head when you speak of the Reverand Mother!

Actually, from what I read I belive the Prophetess would be against gambling, since it isn't really a value-for-value transaction.

Animals naturally react to threats with either aggression or flight. If you feel you can beat the crap out of the threat, you attack. Otherwise, you flee -- or you flap around to appear more dangerous than you are.

When the threat metamorphoses into a neutral part of the scenery, your aggressiveness subsides in order to preserve your energy for real threats. When the ex-threat becomes subservient or an ally, your attitude changes even more and you start feeling friendly. And you don't want to kill anymore.

Turn off the damn chat.

but I felt that the mere fact that he admitted I'm better, and that he is even willing to learn from me, changed something in my attitude toward him and maybe caused me to be a little less aggressive or something, and maybe even play a little softer, out of some kind of "sympathy", as if I don't want to "destroy" him anymore

Mike Caro wrote something about this... be friendly at the table...compliment a guy's play...buy him a drink...then bluff him.
