How many losing players think they are good players? To what extent can a person decieve themself into thinking they play better than they do?

I'd bet a lot of money that over 75% of losing players think they're a great player. Brings to mind quotes such as I'm "up a little" or at least "about even".

i dont know exactly what percentage it would be but losing players usually view it 3 ways. There are the ones who think they are good, the ones who think its just gambling/a game of luck, and those who do it for recreation. 95% are probably subscribers to at least one of the first two ideas

I have yet to meet a poker player that didn't believe he was good.

I hope all of 'em!

The extent a person can decieve themselves is without bounds.

Thank goodness.

To more of an extent than 95% of people will realise. Even those who are not big-headed or anything.

The reason why:

Poker is very, very complex.

It's like exploring a huge cavern with only a candle for light. You're only going to know that you know it all, once you actually do. You have no way of perceiving or imaginging the bigger picture until you have uncovered it in real time.
