How do I extract value postflop?
I keep flopping huge hands and trying to slowplay but I can't get the other players to take the bait. What am I doing wrong?
Here are two sample hands. http://www.pokerhand.org/?445298 http://www.pokerhand.org/?405141 |

Re: How do I extract value postflop?
just bad luck. in the first hand someone usually has a straight or a smaller boat and will commit themselves. also, by the river, you have to worry about quads so check/calling is ok.
hand two looks like you extracted the most you possibly could (can't squeeze water from a rock lol!) so nh. |

Re: How do I extract value postflop?
Should I minbet the flop on the K9 hand? Anything more could cost me customers. I'm really afraid of them folding because like wyoak said, can't get water from a rock!

Re: How do I extract value postflop?
lol - i'll give some real advice
bet the flop in hand 1. Keep betting 3/4 pot on turn and river if they're still around raise more on every street in hand 2. You flopped the hand you wanted, now get some money out of it. Bet pot on flop, try to get it all-in. Make your bets 3/4 to full pot here. |

Re: How do I extract value postflop?
you never bet your first hand... how can you expect to get any value if you don't give anyone a chance to pay you?
you had action on the second hand, maybe you should have bet more, I don't like the sizes of your bets and raises at all. why are you betting 1/20th of the pot on the flop!!!!!! seems a little ridiculous!! so my advice, if you want to get payed, bet and raise more... you aren't facing opponents throwing their hands away, you're facing them not having to pay to stay in. |
