Default Speeding tickets

I normally cruise about 10-20 mph over the limit on highways, it's a pretty comfortable speed. Today I got pulled over and got a ticket. Oh well, that sucks, but it's part of the risk I accept driving that speed. After the cop lets me go, I continue driving 10-20 mph over the limit, because it's still a comfortable speed, and I know past random events have no effect on the likelihood of future events. So about 30 miles up the road I get pulled over again and get another ticket. Fortunately I live in Alabama, so speeding tickets are like free, and I have an out of state license, so no points to worry about.

Does the ticket actually cite you for running a yellow light? My fines are less than $300 total, so I'm going to go play poker for a few minutes and pay them off.

If this was your first driving offense, then it's worth going to court and pleading for leniency. Judges will often let the first one slide (you pay court costs) if you've never had any priors. Just be honest, tell the judge you were wrong and hope he's feeling generous that day. You're probably [censored] on the second one, but one is better than two.

how fast were u going exactly and what was the speed limit? seems like driving fines in the us are really nice. Going 20mph over the limit i would lose my license at allmost any limit :<

when i got a speeding ticket i went down to the county courthouse.. if you just contest it (just explain it to some guy, be apologetic, etc. not a judge or anything) they'll take half off the cost usually. did for me.

watch your speed in NY state. I got busted for 86 in a 65. The ticket didn't list the prices for various offenses, but I'm outta state so it won't likely affect my insurance; how bad can it be?

Well, I plead guilty and got the ticket for $200. Pretty bad, but hey I was guilty. Then a month later I got another bill for $300 more for being an unresponsible driver. Apparently 21 over is bad enought that it warrants a bonus penalty designed to punish traffic's version of the kleptomaniac.

If I get caught doing the same again, it's even more expensive:

linky
