Dell Offer Netting a Super Cheap 2007FP Opinions Needed
So my boss gets an offer from Dell via mail, offering the following;
Dimension 5150 Desktop with 20" Flat Panel Display Intel P4 630 with HT Technology 3ghz, 2mb L2 Cashe, 80 GB (7200 RPM HD) 512 MB SHARED DDR2 SDRAM Intel Graphics Media Acceleator 950 (Gma 950) 58x CD/RW/ DVD Combo Drive 1 Year Economy Service Plan Also included...... 20.1" 2007 FP Dell Ultrasharp Digital Flat Panel Display The offer the usual upgrades, one of which includes 500 MB of additional RAM for $50, which is what he would do. My boss has been looking for a cheap desktop and he's not doing much more than Internet and Email with it. Every so often he opens up a powerpoint presentation but this computer is not under duress in any way, so the cheap memory and small hard drive are no big deal. Anyway, the real gem of this offer is the 2007FP, which I have offered to buy from him (tentatively) for $300.00. Am I getting a good deal on this monitor at that price? I own a 2001FP but it's been a while since I was in the market for a flat screen. I paid about $475 for it over a year ago using a Slickdeals offer. Also, how much is this computer worth? If he spends $650 + shipping and I take $300 off the top for the monitor, is this a decent price to spend on a basic computer? Thanks for any input. |

Ah . . . it might not be a good deal for either of you at the moment.
This post yesterday points out a serious problem that some 2007FP and 2007WFP might currently have with their DVI's. busguy |

should be easy enough to figure out the ebay price for just the computer. my guess is you could buy one for $450 or so.
