Flopped set against villain taking weird line pre
im guessing my hand is too transparent here, but i dont know how to play this in this pot. The first limper was a habitual limp/folder, so that contributed to me raising pre. i had no idea what oo make of the BTN's re.. he is 19/7/2.5 and seems pretty inept at hand reading.
is bet flop better? check/raise more? i thought this way he was pretty much committed.. Re: Flopped set against villain taking weird line pre
I think u played it fine past the flop, he has taken the lead pf, so let him bet his overpair or overcards on the flop, u have him locked up.
Its harder to extract OOP, turn is super standard, villain calls there 90% of the time given action. |

Re: Flopped set against villain taking weird line pre
I fold to his 3bet preflop. 7% pfr? And he limp-reraises? I know it's weird that he'd do this after another limper, but I'm guessing it's at least AK-AJ possibly suited or 99+. Playing your hand postflop out of position against any of these hands is a nightmare. And given how passive he is, you're not likely to get the implied odds for set mining.
On the flop, shove your stack after he bets. He's calling with a wide range you beat. |

Re: Flopped set against villain taking weird line pre
Fine. I usually just raise bigger/shove flop because they're never ever folding any over-pair on this board.

Re: Flopped set against villain taking weird line pre
I'd fold pre-flop. You are not getting set mining odds and a 19/7's 3-betting range has 66 smoked.
As played, check-raing the flop and shoving the turn is pretty standard. Leading the flop with the idea to 3-bet AI is fine as well though against this type of villain a check raise probably works better. |

I can't believe everyone is fine with mini-raising the flop.

Re: Flopped set against villain taking weird line pre
Just shove the flop, your line looks a lot like an overplayed TT/JJ and he will instacall anything that beats it
