Yeah, you can use 3rd party software. I have used Media Monkey to xfer songs.
edited to add: *caveat* I guess there have been some reports of errors when using MM though |

I don't understand why you are calling it a resource hog. What kind of system are you running? You can always install it and then get rid of it.

You've checked the running processes and your memory usage with it running and doing something, running and not doing something, and all the rest? Or did someone tell you it's a resource hog on some chat board somewhere?
You're probably better off just using iTunes and exiting out of it when you aren't syncing up stuff with the Touch. You'd hate to have Apple change something on the Touch to lock it down more with iTunes and have to import your stuff into iTunes. |
