Re: NL50 Bottom Set, unraised Pot
I would have made it like 30-35 to go on the flop once he raises to ten because the board is so wet. I know my default here is to check and see what he does but Im not sure if thats too great or not honestly. I would probably call a bet though because Im not sure someone with those stats goes crazy with a draw.

Re: NL50 Bottom Set, unraised Pot
You realize they have over 120 bb's left each and there is a 4 straight? A push here feels like youre turning your hand into a bluff, I would rather give him the opportunity to take a stab at it. By pushing he can play perfectly against us I think.

He called 25 on the turn with more than just a 3. I don't think you are ahead here. Because you didnt raise preflop you have no idea what he has. Hes only betting here if he has you beat. Two pair doesn't bet here with his stats/the board. I would throw out a blocker bet of 15$. Atleast you can pitch then. Checking is asking to get bluffed though. |

Re: NL50 Bottom Set, unraised Pot
Okay brea your post makes no sense whatsoever. Youre saying he would only bet if youre beat but checking is asking to get bluffed. I know checking is asking to get bluffed, thats why you check in the first place. If you bet and get shoved on then what? Im guessing you would have to fold then as I dont see anyone raising with less. But someone can definitely take a stab at it with less if checked to them, and I think thats a good thing here. If you bet you might even get two pair to fold here fearing the straight.

By not raising preflop you are giving this guy a shot to play a trash hand that contains a 3. Personally, I don't think he called 25$ on turn with a 3. With that being said, I would throw out a blocker bet of 15$ on river. If he shoves I'd fold cause his range is too wide. |

Re: NL50 Bottom Set, unraised Pot
Okay first of all, Im not op so I didnt misplay anything. I will agree pre flop is a raise but whatever, thats a small mistake. I dont think he called 25 with a 5 either, if I did then I would say c/f. No offense here but your logic makes no sense. If he bets after you check to him his range is definitely wider than if you bet and he shoves. DUCY?

I find that most hands that I lose are misplayed preflop (I give too much value or play out of position). In any event, I think that his set is likely ahead. I would throw out a value bet on river. The guy prolly has 2 pair. If he shoves though you have to be willing to make a sick call for your stack. |
