Re: 5.50 trip jacks vs. raise
oh whoops i thought i had it edited. Bet on the flop was 200. Bet on the river was 200, raise to 400. I had probaby 1250 or so, and he had probably around 2500.
Looking back, I think my mind was way too stuck on the idea that he was slow playing a jack. I asked and he said he had pocket eights... |

Re: 5.50 trip jacks vs. raise
Don't fold. This is a pocket pair a lot of the time. The line doesn't really make sense for a jack but it makes a lot of sense for middle pair or a pair better than MP.

Re: 5.50 trip jacks vs. raise
Insta-push. Given your stack size in relation to the blinds I might even push the flop with your top pair and backdoor possibilities. Still I am not, without reads to the contrary, folding a set. Odds are slim he has a Jack anyway.
