Caesars LV $2/$5- Quad, how to get full value?
Villain is loose active...
$2 -$5 NL at Caesars LV. MP raises to $25, Villain calls from MP+1, I call from BB with 88. Flop 88T, I check, MP checks. Villain bets 60. I call, MP folds. Turn 7. Board rainbow. I check, villain bets $100. (Villain has 2K behind, I have 550 behind) I raise to $200. (IMO, the turn slows down over pair but improves T9,99. His hands don't look like QQ+ given pf call. My plan was to build the pot for river bet, I believe he will look me up very likely at the river, am I right or wrong?. ) Is my line OK or there is a better line? Thanks |

Its not terrible - but I think the mini-raise on turn looks a little fishy, i'd probably just raise more to $300 or so.

I feel the min raise here is probably the worst of your options as it looks the most suspicious. It just screams monster because it's doubtful you'd raise that little with an 8 or even J9.
Since it's live play, I think the best option here is to Hollywood the turn and think for a bit before calling. Make him think you're calculating the odds for your draw. The other option is to overbet so he puts you on an 8. What do you put him on in this hand? Given his line and position, I'm thinking pocket 6s. |

That's why I check-call the flop, also hoping the original raiser come along with a draw or raise it up for semi-bluff (remote). But when villain comes again on the turn, it's never under pair to me, AT,JT,J9,77,JJ,99 all in his ranges. I thought mini-raise can have more hands in his range stay with me and top range would push back to me given my stack vs his stack. Yes, it also exposes monster if he's good. But raising more is functional all-in, isn't it? I'm not sure what's the best play at the turn. |

Your line here is horrible, no offense. C/C the flop then C/min-raise the flop is very bad. Lead the flop, and lead the turn, or CR without check min-raising. If you lead this flop you take Tx/J9s/overpairs to equitytown. Your line, however, is basically announcing your hand on the turn.

Your min-raise makes your hand look like a monster, and you won't get called on a river push unless the villain had a full house

I think my line gets paid by wider ranges of hands, but can't get full value of it. As played, villain moved all-in on the turn with JJ. I think he played the hand bad. I played it worse... |
