NL100: TPGK Facing Big Turn Raise
I really didn't want to fold this because villain had come over the top of me couple of times already. Do I make a stand here?
I don't have villains stats but if I remember right they were something like 30/10/4. Poker Stars, $0.50/$1 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 7 Players LegoPoker Hand History Converter SB: $98.45 BB: $150.55 UTG: $391.95 UTG+1: $97.60 MP: $111.30 Hero (CO): $107.20 BTN: $55.20 Pre-Flop: J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (CO) 3 folds, Hero raises to $4, 2 folds, BB calls $3 Flop: ($8.50) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) BB bets $5, Hero raises to $20, BB calls $15 Turn: ($48.50) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) BB checks, Hero bets $20, BB raises to $80, Hero...? |

Re: NL100: TPGK Facing Big Turn Raise
I'm fine with your line up until the turn.
I would check the turn for pot control - the 8c just made the board look pretty scary - 2 flush draws, straight draw, middle pocket pairs made sets, etc. What is your turn bet trying to accomplish? It is small and begging to get pushed over. Generally, when people c/r the turn like this they do not have air and TP2K on this board probably isn't ahead. So, I'm fine with pf and flop - but I would check the turn to control the pot and see what he does on the river. |

Re: NL100: TPGK Facing Big Turn Raise
raising flop is ok but you need a plan, otherwise calling is better.
DEFINITELY check turn. I don't even think your hand is worth protecting here. |

Villains like these will apply pressure with a wide range of hands, and his call of your nicely-sized flop raise has to be a concern. He's probably got the flush draw or maybe JT, so if you bet the turn you're trying to make him fold and will need to bet more... it doesn't matter here, definitely check behind. As played, you're getting 2.5 to 1. Are you good 28% of the time? idk, doubtful. |
