On reflection, I think my pre raise was too small, however I 'm not sure a push is the right play either? In other words I suck balls with AK.

I'd check behind. You're getting check-shoved on a lot here.

I agree that your 3-bet pre is way too small. If i was going to 3-bet, I'd try to put UTG+1 to a decision to shove/fold pre, by making it around 7K. I think flatcalling the raise is fine too b/c it may induce one of the short stacks to squeeze behind with hands that u dominate. As played i think u have to bet here. I'd prob bet 5K, then call if UTG+1 c/r shoves. If he has something like JJ or QQ, you'll be getting the right odds to call with two overs and a BDFD.

Yea we'll be priced into calling but we rather not find get put in that spot. A good portion of the time we're either behind (drawing to 6 outs+BDFD), and we'll get shoved on, or sometimes (but less likely imo) villain is drawing to 3 outs (AQ, maybe AJ if he sucks.) Unless villain sucks, he's not calling of 1/3 of his stack pre and folds this flop.

3bet bigger preflop w/ intention of shoving/calling allin on like 99% of flops

as played the pot is 10k and he has 10k behind, just shove cuz he folds sometimes
