NL$100| Anyone fancy a river hero call?
Villain is 27/25/4 (130) and seems solid. He's been using position against me a lot and knows I'm fairly solid and a thinking player.
Before I continue my river bet is a blocker. I believe this is a battle of the king-kicker and with the ace there now I doubt he ever raises bigger kicker kings but may bet more for value if I check. Normally in the face of a virtual min-raise this hand is an insta-muck. However, I couldn't see what hand he'd take this line with that beats me. If he has a good kicker king then I just don't see him making this raise ever and I'd expect him to fire turn anyway. If he has a 4 I'm confident this player always bets the turn for value. I also don't think he makes this raise with an ace too often as it's as much in my range as his. He might do it with Ax of spades for value vs a king though. On the basis of all this I felt this may be an attempt to take the pot cheap with a busted flush as that would fit the flop and turn line he took. Also, if he knows that my river bet was a blocker and that I'm a disciplined thinking player he has to expect me to junk a wide range of hands. Re: NL$100| Anyone fancy a river hero call?
I think low-mid kicker kings call $12 into $42 here. Crucially, if I check villain bets probably about $18-22 with most better kicker kings and all other hands that beat me. C/c means he gets max value out of my always on on his terms. Blocker means I get a little value from hands I beat but prevent him taking max-value with a reasonable amount of his range that's ahead of me.

"I think low-mid kicker kings"
And u split. READ THE [censored] BOARD. "Blocker means I get a little value from hands I beat" No. Do u really think a middle pair 55-JJ calls here? It doesn't. |

Re: NL$100| Anyone fancy a river hero call?
Your kicker doesn't play, if he has any K you split.
His play looks a lot like a FD with the A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. There isn't really much else he can minraise the flop then check the turn with. If he had a king he'd almost certainly bet the turn or raise more on the flop, and he wouldn't raise the river. Pretty sure you are toast here and can fold. |

"No. Do u really think a middle pair 55-JJ calls here? It doesn't."
With a missed FD and a fairly weak river bet! Yeah!!! I'd probably call my own river bet with JJ given the action. |

Re: NL$100| Anyone fancy a river hero call?
a 27/25 villian is 3 betting JJ-99 preflop here almost always.
Also, he's probably not raising the smaller pairs on that flop so weakly. |
