good time for a big bluff? NL25
Full Tilt Poker, $0.10/$0.25 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LegoPoker Hand History Converter BTN: $36.50 Hero (SB): $33.75 BB: $8.50 UTG: $25.55 MP: $23.55 CO: $35.75 Pre-Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (SB) 3 folds, BTN raises to $1, Hero raises to $2.90, BB folds, BTN calls $1.90 Flop: ($6.05) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero checks, BTN bets $3, Hero calls $3 Turn: ($12.05) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero checks, BTN bets $8 villain is decent and aggressive. he's been raising OTB a lot, and i've 3 bet a couple times and taken it down. in general i've been active at the table. i don't like to cbet here, because i'm going to get bluff raised and floated way too much, especially given our history. but that $3 bet looks weak. and though the turn bet looks a bit scarier, what hand did he make with the 8. set of 8's? i really feel like i either have the best hand or i'm up against a weak hand that doesn't want to play a big pot. i guess i'm considering c/r the flop, crai the turn, or just calling the turn and making him fire 3 barrels. anyone like any of those? |

I think this is a pretty bad spot and I think you'll get looked up quite often. Unless you're 3betting small pairs here, it doesn't seem credible for you to have a set. Nor does your line seem very natural for an overpair.

If you are worried about getting bluffed then c/f or c/r. check calling here sucks. Shoving the turn is a spew too imo. You will get looked up by 99+ and any pair on the board most of the time. With the line you took, the only thing you can really rep is a set, and its not likely. Save the FPS for playing in position. |

better bluff line would be to Cbet flop and 2nd-barrel the turn

[/ QUOTE ] so you really feel like b/f the flop (and c/f the turn if just called on the flop) is the best way to play this hand vs this kind of aggressive opponent? if that's the case, once he decides to start calling 3bets, i might as well just give up 3betting anything but JJ+. he's not going to pay me off if i make TPTK and he's beat. and in position he's going to outplay me on all kinds of boards. ugh. |

[/ QUOTE ] there's no way he's giving me credit here. i'm getting raised or floated with air way too much to make a cbet profitable imo. i don't like c/f flop. so it sounds like the only play people might like here is c/r flop. can i get some more love for that line? |
