kq bb vs sb push
New table no read on villian.
My question is - if you don't call this, then how short a stack would villian have to have before you would call? Full Tilt Poker $24+2 No Limit Holdem Tournament Blinds: t250/t500 (Ante: t50) 8 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: t7544 UTG+1: t16626 MP1: t2343 MP2: t23914 CO: t6775 Button: t1405 SB: t5364 Hero: t10537 Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6 folds, SB raises all-in t5314, Hero |

Re: kq bb vs sb push
foldfoldfold
but how far into the tournament are you? see what he does in this situation next time. i fold cause SBs can do this a lot with Ax and theres no reason to get your money in with KQ just out of spite. no reason for you to gamble half your stack here. i would probably call up to 2500. |

Re: kq bb vs sb push
It was from the other day, think it was 50 or so from the bubble.
I folded, but wonder how short he'd have to be to make this a standardized call, as I only have 20 bb's myself. |

Re: kq bb vs sb push
I'd call because SB could be shoving ATC

Re: kq bb vs sb push
This is somehow read-dependant.
SB's M is under 5. If he is a thinking player his open-push range should be ATC - so this is a clear call. If he is a tight player that has not or not correctly adjusted to the increasing blinds than this gets a gamble. With no reads I would call. You have an M of 9, so you need to accumulate chips, and there is a good chance you are in front of his range. The second point is, that with blinds and antes you get the right odds to call nearly every hand (except QQ+,AK,AQ) so also from the pot-odds this is a clear call. |

Re: kq bb vs sb push
Surely with 10*BB its not correct for SB to push any two cards? I believe this can (and has been worked out)
Isn't is something more like any A, K, or Q, any pair and the high suited connectors and one gappers? J9 up? That's what I'd be pushing here. |

Good morning Jammy
Take a look at the pushbot charts - the main factor here aren't the BB but the M (as we got antes here) imo. So with M=4,6 and SB it is reasonable to push ATC - but i agree, that not all players would do that. |

Re: kq bb vs sb push
I push nearly ATC from SB in this spot as SB. Maybe something like 90% of all cards - folding the worst 10% like 23o. With the best hands SB probably just calls to induce a bluff that SB can call. But with most holdings SB should be just happy to win the blinds.
SB only have 10,6BB and thus winning the blinds are important. |

Re: kq bb vs sb push
i would personally fold here .. yer i agree he could be pushing any two here but if he does have a2 and u brick out theres no need to risk half ur decent stack. he could have any two live cards giving it about 60/40 or even any pocket for a 50/50..
wat u guys reckon? would i be playing it weak? |

Re: kq bb vs sb push
i wrote a big long reply that i dont feel like typing again.
I guess it got zapped. It depends on his skill. The more skilled he is the quicker this is a call. If he is pushing even CLOSE to optimally, its a snap call and were way way ahead At 10bb he should push every king. every ace every pair every broaday hand, even every ssuited queen and jack. If he drops off the bottom 10-15% of those, were still CRUSHING his range. We fold here if we know he sucks. If we know hes a nit. If we know hes raising only 15%. If we can see an ace by looking at the back of his hand, or if we can see a pair. If he gets below 8bb we call even if hes top 15% range, we have plenty of equity to make that call. If he knows were foldign KQ he would be pushing so freaking many hands, almost up to ATC as someone already replied, so yeah if hes any good this is a snap call. Worried about losing half our stack? Oh my. Thats some stinking thinking. How bout how often we are a 70/30 favorite here since he snap pushes K6s if hes at all good. 4card |
