Re: Flopped trips, decent kicker, faces bet + raise
Yeesh. If UTG has AA/KK, and you smooth call, you may get him to push or come for the ride. If UTG pushes and Button repops or just calls, I think it's fair to say you are beat.
If you are ahead of button, pushing is going to make him fold. I just call. I don't know - I mean, if I push, he's not calling with anything I beat because Q10, K10, and A10 + 22 are by far more possible than 109o. He may be RRing with 99/88 thinking UTG is FOS and that you can't have a 10 / 222, but pushing here is gonna convince him otherwise. Barry |

I call the flop and hope that UTG goes away and maybe I check the turn as well letting villian bet again with a lesser hand. If we lead and there is resistance I think we are committed to a pot that we rarely win. Maybe time for the check/shove. If he checks I lead any river. |

Re: Flopped trips, decent kicker, faces bet + raise
A weak call may get UTG trying to fold you with a 4 bet, if he's a donkey (or thinks you are ). May also induce SB to bet again on the turn. I think you have to be greedy and just call.

Re: Flopped trips, decent kicker, faces bet + raise
I think you call and decide whether to play for maximum value or push after the turn to take the pot down. There's no indication of strength pre-flop and button seems to be just playing position. His re-raise could just simply be an attempt to steal after the continuation bet. I think best play is to call and go all-in after the turn.

If he does you probably aren't ahead. |

Re: Flopped trips, decent kicker, faces bet + raise
I can't believe i'm saying it, but call and slow play a little. Jamming here accomplishes basically nothing, worse hands always fold unless its a T which isn't getting away on turn and no better hand folds.
