$400NL. AQ turns trips....
Villain is AdamKosh for those play on PP. We have some history. Nothing recent though. Just a lot of 3-betting each other and whatnot. Nothing today or within the last week or so though. What do I do here on the turn? If I check, am I calling ANY river? If I bet, what is my response to a raise?
Party Poker No Limit Hold'em Cash Game $2/$4 Blinds 6 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter) SB: $402.00 BB: $394.00 UTG: $373.30 MP: $423.20 Hero (CO): $412.50 BTN: $521.50 Preflop: Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6 Players) 2 folds, Hero raises to $16.00, 2 folds, BB calls $12.00 Flop: ($34) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) BB checks, Hero bets $24.00, BB raises to $72.00, Hero calls $48.00 Turn: ($178) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) BB checks, Hero....???!?! |

Once you call the flop, I'd probably bet this turn.

Re: $400NL. AQ turns trips....
I think this spot is way tougher than just "oh we have trips now bet"! Adam is one of those guys that coldcall their BB with all sort of hands (some aces, scs, small PPs, broadways) and then c/r random flops. That being said, he probably has 4 types of hands:
an Ace, that is probably any suited ace, ATo+ a draw, im not sure hes gonna bet a FD here or how hes reacting to a bet he has "air", that is various PPs, broadways (gutshot, maybe). hes c/f this. sets, hed probably be going for a c/r here and were drawing pretty thin. im interested in other's thoughts. |

Re: $400NL. AQ turns trips....
I think we have to bet here, hate using this word but mainly to 'protect' against the numerous draws that are in his range. Plus it protects us from being bluffed on the river when a heart rolls off and he pots it.

Re: $400NL. AQ turns trips....
If his range is mainly any ace (he's calling) or draws (he's likely calling), then a bet would seem fairly obvious, no? If he has pure air and has checked the turn, he will either check the river if you check behind, or fire on a scare card, which you will have a difficult time calling. You are not likely losing to a house often enough to lose value by betting here.

Weird spot, cos i don't think there is a great deal of value in betting (altho obv he never folds any ace) but i still think a bet is correct. |

Re: $400NL. AQ turns trips....
Vs a co open, Adam would 3-bet TT pf the large majority of the time (unless OP is a nit?) so i think the only set we lose to is 33. I'd say his range mainly consists of hands like KJhh and what-not
