NL10 - KK in the blinds, awful flop
Tricky spot. I put villain on a wide range here obviously. His stats were 26/4/0.8 over 60 hands.
My decision to continue or not in the hand was simple IMO - Do I believe he has an Ace or not ? Should I c-bet this to find out where I am early in the hand ? On the other hand, even if he doesn't have an Ace, if I bet out, is he really going to believe I have one ?! Raise more preflop.
This isn't a particularly good flop for your hand, but its a far sight from an awful one. Bet $1.50. |

This is less aweful than a single A flop, bet.

Re: NL10 - KK in the blinds, awful flop
Reraise more PF, def CB the flop. I'd say you re taking the pot down right there 80 % of the time and can release safely the other 20 % when he just calls or raises..

Re: NL10 - KK in the blinds, awful flop
You need to bet out since you reraised; I think if you don't villain will bluff most likely with pot-sized bet to push you out. I'd agree that 1.5 is a good size for this flop bet. If you get a call, keep the pot small if you don't feel you're committed to going all-in.

Re: NL10 - KK in the blinds, awful flop
Thanks for the comments. Here is what happened on the flop:
BET Hero , $1.10 RAISE BTN, $2.20 to $3.30 FOLD Hero Comments ? Also, a couple of you mentioned betting more preflop ? What is a standard 3-bet preflop ? I raised this for value, but I also want action, right ? Thanks for your help |

3-bet to like $1.2 pre-flop.
Check-call flop. |

Re: NL10 - KK in the blinds, awful flop
I'd make it 1.1 - 1.2 here preflop. I don't tink there's a receipe but I think a normal 3-bet is 3-4 times more than the initial raise. Just make sure to add that to the ammount you need to call. So here you call .2 and raise 3x0.3
I think Alex is right, a cbet here is mandatory and takes the pot most of the times. The result in this particular case should't bother you. You've made the corect play. |

BET Hero , $1.10 RAISE BTN, $2.20 to $3.30 FOLD Hero Comments ? [/ QUOTE ] IŽd also play it like that. Preflop (even though it has been said before) raise more. Actually, I 3-bet so much that he can not profitably call with smaller pairs for set value. |

3-bet to like $1.2 pre-flop. Check-call flop. [/ QUOTE ] Yep. And this really isn't that bad of a flop. |
