Holdem player trying PLO QQ vs 888 board 50NL
Hello everyone,
I'm probably thinking too much like a holdem player in this but I didn't put the guy on an 8 or AA/KK. I raised preflop here because I had a decent hand in position and I thought it would be easy to play postflop. The turn...well I have no excuses for that - I just changed my mind and decided to play it aggressive instead of passive. I'm not sure what I'm asking here, but I guess some general feedback of how I should have played the hand, what kind of hands we expect to see the villain with here, and what I should have been thinking during the hand. saw flop|saw showdown Button (Villain)/ ($31.70) SB ($30.05) BB ($23) Hero ($57.55) Preflop: Hero is UTG with 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. hand 1 is a total spew on the turn, he has 8x, maybe AA or KK, or a bluff, and most likely it's 8x. I call the $1.50 and maybe the minraise, no more.
Hand 2 it's possible he is aggro enough to barrel away with lots of hands other than 89 here. In general you are going to get shown the nuts a lot though. |

Ok cool, thanks for the reply.
Another question - Does the Ace on the turn make my hand look any better vs his range? |

hand 1. The miniraise from villian on turn is a signal stop putting chips in the pot. call and c/f further action. hand 2 calling flop is ok, but at this level when someone fires two barrels in a row they have the nuts pretty often.

Ok cool, thanks for the reply. Another question - Does the Ace on the turn make my hand look any better vs his range? [/ QUOTE ] well, yes. It's a lot better card for you than the 7 of clubs, for example. If you mean because he could have just AA or maybe AA + some other draw and is only firing again because he hit the ace, then I suppose it's better for you than say the Kd. It rubs both ways though: if he had the nut flush draw and would have fired again with it anyway, there's a good chance he now has aces up or three aces and has very good equity against your hand. |
