The Ex Casino in Toronto
I played here last summer but am foggy on some of the details and google is not being cooperative...
When is it open? What are the peak hours / best time to go? What is the rake like? I remember only 5/10 amd 10/20 being spread which would be fine for me, I'm a 10/20 player. Looking for any tips on this room if possible, thanks. |

Re: The Ex Casino in Toronto
There's another thread on this somewhere. Anyway, games open at noon and run until 6 in the morning. The daytime crowd is one bazillion tighter and smarter than the nighttime players. Best time to get there would probably be around 7 or 8 at night - you may have about a 30 minute wait. Anytime after that and you're looking at 2-3 hours of waiting.
I only played 5/10 and the rake is 5% to a max of $7.50. Some tips: VALUE BET EVERYTIME. You will get called to the river by people holding any piece. I flopped quads and got called (with raises in between) by four players at showdown. You'll also get rivered a lot more than usual, so get used to it. The dealers are, without a doubt, the worst I've ever encountered. If you get 15 hands an hour you'll be lucky. Average is around 12/hour. Good luck! |

[/ QUOTE ] These dealers are on a whole new level of ineptitude. The major problem is that the casino itself is seasonal. Apparently they'll give anyone who walks in with a pulse a job. You really have to be careful at showdown not to release your cards if you do have the winner, I've seen multiple winning hands mucked. One of the dealers was even struggling to shuffle, couldn't manage to fan cards together. Neither dealers or floor staff can maintain the flow of the game well. It really helps to be the only game in town. |
