FTP vs PS for microstakes
Hi all,
Can anyone give me any decent reason for playing on FTP over Poker stars for micro stakes NL? (5, 10, 25NL) |

Rakeback. Absolutely vital at micro stakes.

Re: FTP vs PS for microstakes
FTP does not have 5NL. Also, the rake at full tilt is so ridiculous at 10NL that even with their rakeback there are many sites that would be better to play at. 25NL at full tilt is worth playing, but they don't have playable 5 or 10NL games.

My vote is Stars, they have a much bigger selection of games than FTP, and even though they don't offer rakeback, their rake is lower, and you do earn FPP's that are kind of quasi-rakeback if used properly.

Re: FTP vs PS for microstakes
Firstly thanks for the responses.
I've played on both, I'm thinking about moving back to Poker Stars. I suppose I should do a pro's and con's. Full tilt pro's - Data mining allowed Good traffic amount Rakeback* Fulltilt points are nice $10nl is their base game, so it should be a little softer then PS at the same level. Poker stars advantage - Same traffic Offers $5nl for a newb like me. Lower rake Points are still nice Checking out the rake situation, I originally played at FTP for OMG RAKEBACK, but even then I'm still getting 'ripped'. Full tilt takes 10% up to $2 Stars takes 5% up to $0.10 (10NL) Ignoring the cap amounts, even if I get 27% rakeback as I am with FTP, I'm still paying 23% extra then what I would be with Poker stars. From there massive difference in the cap amounts too. Was wondering if there was any other reason I should stay at FTP. |

not trying to hijack the thread, but I wish someone with knowledge in both of the limit and no-limit on both sites could comment on the game in general.

Full tilt takes 10% up to $2 Pokerstars 5% up to $0.10 (10NL) [/ QUOTE ] I don't think that right. seems like it might be capped at 1.00 - that's the max rake taken I show in my PT. Like said before - w/o RB why would you play on FTP? I have rakeback there and still can't stand it. Constant feezing / lag !!! The 10% rake at NL10 @ FTP is just sick. (I think it took like 6-8 PTBB just to pay for the rake if I remember that right and I play tight) Also at stars you got NL2 and NL5 if you want to start there for BR reasons... (I agree the data mining on FT is nice but it doesnt make up for the pain you have to endure playing there) |
