1/3 Live AKs easy push?
1/3NL live. 7-handed game. UTG limps, an MP raises to 15, shorty with about 120 behind him pushes allin. I have A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. What to do?
UTG is normally a pretty tight player. He likes to make hero calls once in a while with marginal hands if he thinks he's good. Likes to limp with good hands (big PP, big As) as well as marginal hands (small PP, SCs). I would consider him to be a tight, passive player. His stack is about 300. MP in this spot is a decent TAG/LAG. Plays tight upfront (though he sometimes raises with SCs and random junk to mix it up) and loose in position. So can reasonably raise with any 2. His stack is about 700. The allin shorty plays kamikaze poker. He likes to buy in short, then shove it in on 99+, AJ+. So, this is an ez shove with AK right? Maybe I should minraise? Smooth call? |

Re: AKs easy push?
I hate AK in cash games for all the chips pf, esp to a reraise. It's just so much easier to beat those guys after the flop arrives.
<$200 in your stack, over-push, >$300 in your stack, fold |

If I knew I was just against Kamikaze guy then maybe i'd feel a bit better. |

Re: AKs easy push?
Yeah, unless I'm shortstacked also, I fold here.
(1) tricky UTG player who likes to limp good hands limped in. (2) decent TAG in the pot with an unknown hand. (3) shove by a shortstack whose range has us beat. I'm not feeling it. |

Re: AKs easy push?
just call. and reload.
nobody else is going to call anyways, and there is dead money for your coin flip. |
