NL10 - Top Pair + Sick Draw in Blind vs Blind Situation
Only sat down an orbit or two ago, so I don't know much. Preflop's not standard for me at all, but whatever, that's not the interesting part.
Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.05/$0.10 Blinds - 4 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter) SB: $19.90 Hero (BB): $9.85 UTG: $10.00 BTN: $13.05 Preflop: Hero is dealt 3 A (4 Players) 2 folds, SB raises to $0.40, Hero calls $0.30 Flop: ($0.80) A 2 5 (2 Players) SB bets $0.60, Hero raises to $2.00, SB calls $1.40 Turn: ($4.80) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) SB checks, Hero? Should my flop raise have been a bit bigger? All I want to do on this flop is get it the hell in, and he's not obliging me. A flop raise to $2.60 makes a turn shove only the mildest of overbets, so is that the right idea on a flop like this? Am I supposed to check this turn behind? If I check behind and don't improve, am I supposed to fold to an unknown that makes any reasonable bet? |

Re: NL10 - Top Pair + Sick Draw in Blind vs Blind Situation
I have to think you're a favorite still. I bet around $3.5 and try to get the rest in on river.
There's no way you can check this. If a club (or other scare card) comes he may get scared off. Get some money in now. |

If he is up against just another naked ace he is about a 2 to 1 dog on the turn. I check behind unless I believe villain will laydown an ace.

Re: NL10 - Top Pair + Sick Draw in Blind vs Blind Situation
Bet and call a push. If villian has AA,55,22,AXs,AXo you have 38.6% equity. Your stack is about $7 on the turn, if you are behind by 11%X7=-.77 There's $5 in dead money to help pay for this call if you are behind. If you bet and villian calls, don't bet River unless you improve.

One bump for the morning/daytimers, because there's some different conclusions here.
As it turns out, I did bet $3 on the turn. If we bet this turn, it's with the intent of calling a push, I think? Otherwise, I've gotta check behind and hope to improve on the river. Right? |
