quick question
How much of the effective stack do you need to get in preflop to make any flop push with AAxx profitable?
I've been told different answers ranging from 60-90% |

Re: quick question
you will get different answers here too but all much less than 60%, more like 30 to 40%.

Something on the order of 33% tends to be the consensus at this forum. However, when you get this low it's probably no longer optimal to shove/call any flop. |

Re: quick question
The reason I ask is because there are situations vs an opponent where I am almost certain has AAxx and I have just been guessing if I have the odds to call or not. Below SB did not quite get 30% of his stack in preflop so I guess this makes my call correct?
Stack sizes: UTG: $56.95 Button: $193.30 SB: $33 hero: $97.50 Pre-flop: (4 players) hero is BB with :th :8h :7c :8d UTG folds, SB calls, hero raises to $3, SB raises to $9.5, hero calls $6 What if I was OOP here? The percent he needs to get in preflop would be lower right? Since he can dictate whether or not to put any money in postflop. |

Re: quick question
Just because it may be profitable for him to go all in on any flop, that doesn't mean that you should auto fold pre-flop.
It's quite common for both of you to be +EV because there's dead money in the pot. |

Re: quick question
yeah there are very few hands you should fold here, even if the stacks were a little shallower. For example suppose his stack was $10, he would have got in 95% of his stack, and this would be profitable for him, but you couldn't fold.
