Theoretical MTT question: What if everyone at table 1 is sitting out?
I have to believe that this question has been asked before but I couldn't find anything via search.
Say you're place at table 1 of the Sunday Million. You notice that the 8 other players at the table are sitting out and just steal their blinds. When each person is almost gone you scratch your head and wonder why they're all missing. As it turns out, they're all from the Galapagos Islands (which we all know, was just struck by a meteor), so they're not sitting back any time soon. Do you keep stealing their blinds and end up with 8x starting stack for free? Or do you auto-fold also and pray that you're not switched from your table and coast your way into the final 20 or whatever? |

I take the blinds anything to increase my stack and increase my chances of winning.

Re: Theoretical MTT question: What if everyone at table 1 is sitting o
People who are absent from live tournament tables don't get to keep their blinds, right? So why should they? If they registered, then they're supposed to be there.

[/ QUOTE ] Since no one else appears to have caught this part...I still take their blinds. Eventually the blinds will reach a point where the are going to be forced AI and people will start dropping off. At that point you will be too short stacked to remain competetive and the bubble will still not have popped. But even before that were to happen the site's software would start to redistribute players based on stack sizes. Eventually you and your auto-folding, meteor-struck friends are going to another table. It would be best if you had their stacks before this happens. |
