Taking a stand PF with 99 against lag (I 4 bet)
Villain is 48/23/6.8 and I'm pretty sure he's 3 bet me 2-3 times PF previous to this.
First of all, is this 4 bet ok? Secondly, what do I do now on the flop? It's not great for me at all; however, his donk bet is extremely weird. If he had a big hand, he would have c/raised to get more money in right? Since I took control of the hand PF, it would be expected for me to bet on the flop and that's how he could get my money. By him donk betting, it seems like a huge bluff. Anyways, critique plz Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.25/$0.50 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter) SB: $56.05 BB: $115.70 UTG: $46.15 MP: $53.25 CO: $47.50 Hero (BTN): $52.05 Preflop: Hero is dealt (6 Players) UTG calls $0.50, MP folds, CO calls $0.50, Hero raises to $2.75, SB folds, BB raises to $9.50, 2 folds, Hero raises to $27.00, BB calls $17.50 Flop: ($55.25) (2 Players) BB bets $25.05, Hero ??? |

about 100 hands. I didn't see him show down yet (was running 7 tables). From the previous times he 3 bet me, I didn't see what he had.

Re: Taking a stand PF with 99 against lag (I 4 bet)
If your putting half your stack in PF with a medium pocket pair what plan did you have for the flop? Hope for >9xx? Just one over card?
He could easily do this with AK but I think you really needed a plan if your going to leave yourself getting 3:1 on a flop when more often than not going to get over cards. Either flat call the 3bet and c/r large on a non A flop if you think he's messing around with junk often enough or if he's really that laggy just shove PF. As played its pretty dirty, i think its tough because against AK your 60/40 getting 3:1 but of course AT+ & TT+ have you pretty well crushed. Board: Qs Th 4c Dead: equity win tie pots won pots tied Hand 0: 55.416% 55.13% 00.28% 108617 558.50 { 9h9s } Hand 1: 44.584% 44.30% 00.28% 87276 558.50 { 44+, A5s+, KJs+, QJs, A5o+, KQo } Pretty generous distribution i know but that makes up about 16% of possible starting hands within his 20% raising range, i'm not sure if he's crazy enough to repop all of these, but it gives you some idea because I find that often after such PF action its like, oh well [censored] it, might as well just chuck it in. |

if youre gonna do this you have to get it in on a non a/k flop i guess. if i was going to take a stand preflop i would just shove.

Re: Taking a stand PF with 99 against lag (I 4 bet)
fold, dont like the 4 bet, u are getting way commited with a not great hand.
IMO if u are going to 4bet here u should shove and avoid complications on the other streets, since I dont think u are folding if he wouldve moved in to your PF 4bet. As played I fold the flop. He might be very lag, but the moment he calls that 4bet I think he has a very strong hand. |

[/ QUOTE ] Unless you were only planning on continue on the flop if you hit a nine, why are you not putting in in preflop trying to fold out a larger range of hands? You only beat AK obviously, and I dont think he is folding anything in his range to your raise so you have no fold equity. |

Imo the 4bet preflop sucks. either push or call. You know he´s going to play agrressively postflop.
