Re: Kings facing trouble
Tricky... I probably wouldn't fold this at the table, but without doing the math (I'm sure someone of you pokermathicians will do it) I guess it should be doubtful if you should. On the other hand I would hate to fold and watch CO show QQ against SB with AT or AJ. If it was CO that was overagressive I would call closing the action.

Re: Kings facing trouble
given your read on sb I put more bets in. raise turn is best I think, we'd like to get CO to fold an ace if we can.
as played I call the river raise. huge pot and CO may show up with AJ |

Re: Kings facing trouble
Yeah. It is kind of weak not putting in a raise more. But even if SB is aggressive he also knows that I´m tight and a realiable postflop raiser. And CO does not randomly coldcall two on this flop either.
I really started to fear that I was behind on turn. Since SB really started to look like AA and CO like an overpair or a flush I chickened out. |

Re: Kings facing trouble
I wouldn't fold the river unless I knew I could trust CO 100% here. Your read of "he is pretty aware of what hand it takes to win" might/might not be good enough of a read getting 18-1

I think not raising the turn is an even larger mistake however. This should be a standard call flop 3bet-raise non 4/Ace turn, for pure value/protection in a very large pot. |

"I think capping the flop is a large strategical error in this specific situation. I think not raising the turn is an even larger mistake however." Poker, why is capping the flop a large strategical error? Pretty sure I fold this river. Can see almost never that I am ahead of both of these guys. Just out of curiosity what did they have? |

[ "I think capping the flop is a large strategical error in this specific situation. I think not raising the turn is an even larger mistake however." Poker, why is capping the flop a large strategical error? [/ QUOTE ] Read SSH or read HPFAP. Find the parts where the authors talk about maximizing your winning chances when the pot gets large. Then you'll understand why capping KK on this board in this situation is a large, or at the very least, a clear strategical mistake. If the hero likes his hand that much, and I think he should, there is only one line that should be taken here: Call flop, raise non-wheel turn. There is no other alternative line that runs close in expectation in this situation which is why what I'm saying here is not controversial nor debatable. |
