Man I hate this PF AKs
sb is 48/11/1.6, BB is 24/14/2
I hate folding AKs here, my raise OTB looks like a blindsteal and the sb calling makes a good situation for BB to squeeze. Looking at his stats it is quite possible he is capable of making that kind of move. But I feel pushing is too much. Calling is probably the worst of the three though, so why do I do it? I know I have to fold if I miss flop and he bets. Re: Man I hate this PF AKs
Folding preflop is definitely your worst option against someone who you think 3-bets light.
24/14 is not terribly aggressive. If he were 24/20 then I would often push preflop and if I called I would push the flop maybe half the time here. As it is this looks OK. |

Re: Man I hate this PF AKs
I don't mind rereraising pre even against a xx/14. But it's close enough. Shoving over his cbet is def. possible, but somewhat itchy and most likely -EV.
I don't see why you _hate_ the way you played - it's not like you took a very bad line with your hand. |

Re: Man I hate this PF AKs
It's probably because I have made similar line with AQs, even AQo at some point.
With AQs/AQ, this is a easy fold pre? |

A lot of the value calling with AK is that we can easily be up against AQ and win a decent pot when an A flops. With AQ the scenario is likely to be reversed when up against AK and our implied odds postflop goes way down and doesn't justify a call of such a big raise preflop. |

Re: Man I hate this PF AKs
I really hate calling 3 bets with any unpaired Face cards, INCLUDING AK because of this situation, yea if you hit an A or K you're probably ahead. If he has been 3 betting light, then it's an all in preflop. If he seemed that way, but only after a few hands, then this line is OK i guess?

Shoving over his cbet is def. possible, but somewhat itchy and most likely -EV. [/ QUOTE ] With 70 in the pot and 80 behind and some pot equity when called he has to fold about 50% for a shove to be break-even. Even is his range is {JJ+, AK} he'll fold that often. [ QUOTE ] With AQs/AQ, this is a easy fold pre? [/ QUOTE ] Depends on how often you've seen him 3-bet. Fold is fine. |

Re: Man I hate this PF AKs
this is a squeeze the vast majority of the time.
i really think you need to value 4bet this preflop, make it like 53. pushing isnt terrible either |
