Villain here is the poster - and he didn't raise. I don't know what we can infer from this, except that he doesn't have a great hand PF.
PokerStars 0.10/0.20 Hold'em (9 handed) Preflop: Hero is BB with 4 ![]() ![]() 1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, MP2 (poster) checks, MP3 calls, 1 fold, Button calls, SB completes, Hero checks. Flop: (6 SB) 4 ![]() ![]() ![]() SB checks, Hero checks, UTG+1 checks, MP2 bets, MP3 calls, Button calls, SB folds, Hero calls, UTG+1 calls. 2 pair on this board is dangerous. So, I planned on c/r a late position bet. Because the bet came from MP and 2 people were trapped, I decided to call and re-evaluate turn - essentially, my plan was to c/r any non-[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] / non-4 str8 card. What do you think? Turn: (5.50 BB) Q ![]() Hero checks, UTG+1 checks, MP2 bets, MP3 folds, Button folds, Hero raises, UTG+1 folds, MP2 3-bets, Hero calls. Great card for me, so I carry out my plan. But when MP2 3-bets, I'm thinking 'WTF?' Set? Flopped str8? I decide to call down? River: (11.50 BB) 3 ![]() Hero checks, MP2 bets, Hero???????????? b/3 doesn't make any sense for a draw on the turn, but that card was still bad bad bad. Am I getting enough to call? |

Personally, I think you're screwed. And I think you're screwed more than 92% of the time. Our relative strength has plummeted. Any reasons for calling should be justified by the psychology that he may be bluffing because he knows the board is scary, because the math says "Uhg, fold" to me.

Christian,
Just a little preemptive strike here: it's generally inconsiderate to post 4 hands at once. We'd appreciate it if you held off on posting the other two until the discussion on these two has concluded. |

Just bet the flop for value, people will call drawing almost dead. If you check you gotta raise for value. Don't get tricky.
Gotta calldown from the turn, Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]x[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] is possible, as are worse 2 pairs since he's a poster. On the river you're probably screwed, but I don't trust posters, and he could have a worst 2 pair. I would cry and call. |

Ok. That's about what I thought. What do you think about my flop play?

I'd think our chances were much better if the board were 356Q4. As it is, I think the ace rag with 6 people to the flop is on the likely side. No? Although the fact that he's a poster does make calling somewhat easier.

Just bet your hand on this flop, you don't want to give anyone a free card here.
Against an unknown I'm going to call this river. |
