This morning my son informed me he wants to be a street performer when he grows up. Wtf? Thankfully he's only five so still plenty of time to change his mind.
This came a day after he sat in front of a digital clock writing down the new time every time it changed...FOR OVER AN HOUR! 10:03 10:04 10:05 ... 11:06 What kinds of things do your kids say/do that just make you shake your head and sigh? |

Have two kids, they will each get a bag of M&M's and each will sort by color and then compare how many of each color were in the bags. I'm like 'eat the friggin candy!'. At 11 & 8 you're too young for statistical analysis.

A couple of years ago my son, probably 7 or so at the time, saw a show on TV about contortionists. So, he decides he should be able to do that and we go through endless try's at him twisting himself in unnatural ways.
He would bend his arm around behind his back or something and go "Hey look at this" and it would make me sick and I would holler at him to cut it out, realizing (again) that I had turned into my father. |

My three year-old daughter is in the 'why' stage.
"Why (insert question here)?" "Why (insert question here)?" "Why (insert question here)?" "Why (insert question here)?" "Why (insert question here)?" "Why (insert question here)?" "Why (insert question here)?" ad nauseum....... I do my best to take her questions seriously, I don't want to put down her curiosity at a critical stage in her development. On the other hand, it can be maddening. She is a modern kid, though. Once I said, "I really don't know", and her answer was, "When we get home we can check on the computer." LOL The next stage is even better. That when all the questions have been answered and whenever you tell them something their answer is "I know"! |

[/ QUOTE ] The Boy used to tell me that "he was born knowing that". Talk about full of himself! One day I caught him on something he didn't know and called him on it. His reply? "I got something caught in my thinker!" |

He'll abandon the idea soon enough but you will be seen as someone he can share his dream with ... seems like a small thing now, will be huge later |
