5/10 river checkraised by donk
Villain is sorta passive aggressive if thats possible... He REALLY wants to see the flop and really wants to see showdown. If he doesnt get his way he is prone to checkraise the flop or limpreraise preflop. His stats are something like 32/7 and postflop aggression of 1,2. I have pretty much been raising his limps nonstop for the last 50 hands about.
From a previous session my only read on him was that he was a slowplayer/trapper, but this session he seems a little more frustrated (he has gotten stacked 2 times while I have been at the table). a couple of orbits back he checkMinraised the turn with KJ on K high board after checkcalling flop, and then got stacked by AK on the river. I dont know exactly what to make of that, but my suspecion is that he is lacking in fundamental postflop concepts like pot control. I couldnt find a hand converter for ongame. If anyone has, please link. Ongame 5/10 3handed Villain is SB with 1741$ Hero is BB with 1351$ Preflop: Hero has A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Villain limps, Hero raises to 35$, villain calls Flop (pot is 70$): T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img],9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img],5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] villains checks, Hero bets 51$, villains calls Turn (pot is 172$): T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] villains checks, Hero bets 142$, villain calls River (pot is 456$): 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] villains checks, Hero bets 351$, Villain PUSHES ALLIN 772$ to call..... |

River (pot is 456$): 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] villains checks, Hero bets 351$, Villain PUSHES ALLIN 772$ to call..... [/ QUOTE ] So at this point the pot is ~1900 and costing you $772 to call? Don't you only need to be right around 1/3rd of the time to call? In my inexperienced oppinion, your read + the math = call and hope he doesn't have 9-10 or some other boat. Wouldn't be surprised to see a worse 10 or maybe air (missed straight draw??) |

Re: 5/10 river checkraised by donk
From your description he seems like he doesn't understand relative hand strengths.
Given that he obviously thinks that any T = nuts I call here but I'm not thrilled about it. |

[/ QUOTE ] I'm not sure he thinks any T is the nuts here (as in I'm sure he understands that I am not bet-calling the river with less than a T). Also I should add that he checkcalled the river in the KJ hand after checkMinraising the turn which indicates that he somehow understood that he held a bluffcatcher at that point. |

Re: 5/10 river checkraised by donk
I had a hand that went like this, I decided that I would bet / fold the river (I had AT on T527T board). Then I thought he would have worse tens enough to call, he had 55 and won the pot and it kind of annoyed me because I thought that his range to c/shove river didn't really give me enough to call.
We were slightly deeper anwyay. |
