flopped two pair on dangerous board
Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)
Hero (SB): $95.20 BB: $74.00 UTG: $102.50 MP: $85.00 CO: $45.00 BTN: $60.10 Preflop: Hero is dealt J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6 Players) UTG raises to $4.00, MP folds, CO calls $4.00, BTN folds, Hero calls $3.50, BB folds Flop: ($13) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 Players) Hero checks, UTG bets $8.00, CO raises to $30.00, ??? Pot Size: $51.00 ($1.40 Rake) UTG was at 41/41, CO was new to the table UTG: his range was very loose here, but i dont see him making this flop cbet with out the A, maybe AQ? CO: considering postflop, and his flop raise is see KT as a stong possibility. I discount the FD because he is short and prob would have pushed. How do you think i should proceed with the UTG guy still to act? BTW: I called preflop as UTG was so loose, usually pitch AJo here. |

Re: flopped two pair on dangerous board
I think you are seeing monsters here really, your hand is super strong. I may have lead the flop but c/r is fine, I think that you probably have the best hand here and should encourage UTG to continue.
I would either re-raise now or call and maybe lead a blank turn. You lose to AQ and KT, with the guy being so short it's unlikely that KT would be raising here and also unlikely he wouldn't have re-raised AQ preflop and again for the same reason as KT on this flop. I think putting UTG on AQ and putting CO on KT is kind of ridiculous. One is a LAG maniac the other is a shorty. |

Re: flopped two pair on dangerous board
Agreed, I re-raise here. Bring it up to 90.

Re: flopped two pair on dangerous board
Prob call lead safe turn or just c/shove and expect to see pair+gutters and FDs

Re: flopped two pair on dangerous board
thanks for the thoughts guys, you discussion into discounting the shorties likelyhood of having KT by his raise was helpful and something i didnt think of at the time.
I am leaning towards a check/call were i can get the agro to come along with a worse ace, and get a side pot going incase the shortie has the FD and hits on later streets. |

Re: flopped two pair on dangerous board
aggjedi: you leaning towards a repop preflop, as i think i have good equity against both of the players ranges preflop and my hand plays better heads up?

Re: flopped two pair on dangerous board
Your hand in this situation doesn't seem too different from AK. And wouldn't you squeeze here with AK?
The reason I say it's not much different than AK is because CO probably isn't calling with AQ or AK. So you'd only have UTG to worry about, and it just seems like an overall good spot to take the pot preflop and not having to worry about playing a decent to mediocre hand from OOP against 2 opponents. |

Re: flopped two pair on dangerous board
Generally avoiding a flop here would be a good idea, and i agree it would be a good spot to squeeze.

Re: flopped two pair on dangerous board
pf is meh...i mean if it were sooted, and i wouldn't squeeze here
on the flop, i just let this go...is that really so weak tight? raising to 90 commits us and utg is yet to act...we're hoping to get called by AT-, FD, or QJ I guess? |
