How big was his stack?
Let's say he has JJ to AA, AK and AQ. Then you are pretty dead. Your chance could be, that he has AK or JJ and folds to a reraise. But that would cost you another ~$18. Guess I would fold here and give him the $3.50. |

Wow.. yeah that's the first time I've seen the lego converter screw up like that.
OK I raised from MP to $1, Villain who has like $60 makes it $3.50 from BTN, I call (?) Flop comes like in OP, and I check/fold. |

AKo is going to be a RIO hand post-flop against this guy which argues for a 4bet or fold.

I definitely agree Antoine.. that is sorta what I want to discuss here.
In spots like these the general conscience in the forum is to flat call. IMO this is a horrible approach for several reasons. |

I'm not sure I like 4 betting either, even this deep.
This is a tough situation that I have trouble with too, I'll be interested to see more responses. |

Re: Where a good player 3bets me and I have NO [censored] idea about
Your relative range is way under-represented because you will do this with any PP, AK, AQ, etc etc. So when he bets the flop he thinks you have a very wide range, and you may have some FE. For that reason I think that you can raise the flop and get away with it, but its a high variance play and its not something that I would actually do myself.
For that reason, I guess I would prefer a 4bet preflop, or a call here and a turn bet. But I'm not so clear on these spots myself, as my recent threads illustrate... |

Re: Where a good player 3bets me and I have NO [censored] idea about
I'm not clear on what to do here either. I used to 4bet shove if I think there's some junk in there, some people say call and CRAI on 'suitable flops' where you think you may both have missed, others like a small 4bet, but this usually pot commits you.
??? unfortunately if you don't know what his three-bet range is. I can't fold here though - you are ahead of his range. |
