lifting when sore
Is there any reason I shouldn't do my back routine today if I'm still sore from my legs/chest/arm routine from Monday? I like to go fairly light on Wed and add some HIIT training.

Re: lifting when sore
why would having sore legs/chest/arms prevent you from working your back today?

Re: lifting when sore
I was thinking by not allowing ample recovery time...? Or is recovery time 100% muscle specific (i.e. you're legs are resting even when you work your back)?

[/ QUOTE ] Soreness has nothing at all to do with systemic recovery or the degree to which you've taxed your central nervous system. Soreness indicates muscle trauma, which is specific to the muscles you worked. The major benefit to split training (which I don't like, by the way) is that it allows you to work another bodypart when the one you've just worked is recovering. If you can't do that, what's the point of using a split routine? |

Re: lifting when sore
Usually if you are just a little sore after a set or 2 all the soreness would go away. but with your question of course you can lift back. It's not sore.
