Re: WHAT ARE LAMMERS?
Lammers are the little plastic disks with printing on them for various purposes.
For instance, there is a "missed blind" lammer that a dealer can mark a spot with so that when a player returns the dealer knows to make him post his blinds. |

Re: WHAT ARE LAMMERS?
They are just chips that are only valid towards tournament buy-ins. The casino will not exchange them for cash.

Re: WHAT ARE LAMMERS?
The term is used in three different ways.
1) I have heard the small clear dividers used to organize chips in a dealers rack referred to as Lammers (I am not sure this is technically correct but it is common) 2) Lammers also refer to buttons with numbers on them that are used to represent money taken out of the dealers rack during a fill. Say the brush comes over and takes $200 in cash out of the dealers rack they put out Lammers representing $200 on the table so that it is clear to everyone including surviellance how much money is missing from the rack. When they bring back the fill of $200 in chips the dealer removes the Lammers. You also see these types of lammers used on table games to represent money given to a player for a marker while the floor staff prepare sthe marker for the players signature. 3) Tournament buy-in chips (the sort won in a satellite) are commonly refrreed to as Lammers. |

[/ QUOTE ] In addition to all of the above missed blind buttons, kill buttons, and overs buttons are also lammers. Essentially any round disk on the table, besides chips or the dealer button is a lammer (actually I don't know if the dealer button is also considered a lammer, its might be. Buttons are sold in the lammers bins at Gamblers General Store if that makes any difference) |

Re: WHAT ARE LAMMERS?
And technically, the word chips is incorrect. The correct term, in Vegas anyway, is checks.

Re: WHAT ARE LAMMERS?
Probably derived from "laminated checks"
