Is this HSBC email legit?
I got this email from HSBC. I am 99% sure that it's real but you can't be too safe these days.
But what the hell does it want me to do? I opened up a HSBC account back in Feb to take advantage of their 6% offer. After I opened the account, I linked up and transfered money from my WAMU account to my HSBC account. I don't plan to withdraw till after April 30th, which is the end of the 6% promotion. What do they want me to do to make my WAMU link active? "Re: Applicant #xxxxx Hello xxxxx, In accordance with your instructions we retained Washington Mutual Bank, Checking for future use with our Bank to Bank Transfers service (part of our Personal Internet Banking service). However, we see that you did not access this service since opening your account. For your security and protection, after 90 days of inactivity, we will remove the ability to automatically use Washington Mutual Bank, Checking within the Bank to Bank Transfers system. If you would like us to retain the account for future transactions, please access our Bank to Bank Transfers Service by logging onto www.us.hsbc.com within the next 20 days. Thank you for choosing HSBC Direct for your financial needs. Sincerely, HSBC Bank USA, N.A. ================================================== =================== This E-mail is confidential. Re: Is this HSBC email legit?
i don't like it.
doesn't seem to be the right address...hsbcusa.com seems to be the american site i found when i went directly to the hsbc website. furthermore, when i clicked the link to the chinese webpages, it looks like it's just a set of images, not actual text or what not... just seems kinda wrong to me...give them a ring. |

Re: Is this HSBC email legit?
www.us.hsbc.com is correct. I don't know anything about the e-mail but that's how I access my account and that's what comes up with you google hsbc us. If this somehow isn't the correct address please pm me as I have major issues.

Re: Is this HSBC email legit?
The address pasted isn't concerning but clicking the link from the email is whats problematic since you can make addresses look different than they actually are.

Re: Is this HSBC email legit?
I have been doing HSBC for several months now. And the web address you gave does not look familiar at all.
Doesn't mean it cannot be legit. But it's not the one I use. I am in the USA. In California. |
