Just curious about your guys thoughts on the spot I chose to semibluff here... normally I wait for some kind of read before I decide to start making these plays, but villain was unknown and my wife pissed me off minutes earlier (AKA semi-bluff rag board time)
Poker Stars No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $0.25/$0.50 5 players Converter Pre-flop: (5 players) noob is BB with 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 folds, Button raises to $2, SB folds, noob calls. Flop: 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($4.25, 2 players) noob checks, Button bets $3, noob raises to $8, Button calls. Turn: A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($20.25, 2 players) noob bets $10 you likes? anything I overlook here that should have diverted the semi attempt? |

flop raise is too small, and probably fold or 3bet preflop.
wtf are you repping by leading this particular turn for that size? |

I don't like your flop check raise. I think it is much more effective to just lead that flop.
What are you trying to represent on the turn? Obviously the A didn't help you (haha I just read the first response after I typed this). |

Make the check-raise and turn lead a lot bigger and I kinda like it. I don't really advocate bluffing at 50NL much though tbh.

I like the flop c/r, it will win the pot often.
However, I think that's a really bad card for a turn follow up. I'd check and try to see a river cheaply |

This is fine, but if you are going to make a CR don't be a wimp about it also don't wimp out on the turn. This is very transparent and these will be picked up on if anyone is paying attention.
I would probably give up on this one on the turn though, see if you can check/call cheaply. |

post stacks, but it all sucks regardless
and it's super funny when he shoves with AK and you just [censored] up a nice draw by not giving yourself odds to call |

If I have a hand to call the flop c/r, it probably doesn't contain an ace. I guess what I'm saying is that the turn ace is more likely to be a scare card for villain than to have improved his hand. Maybe OP is not repping a hand very well, but if you're in villain's shoes here and you hold 99 how far are you going to take it? For all he knows OP is a donk who checkraised A5 and just improved on the turn and is now milking him. |
