New Dealer looking for a job in San Diego
Hey everyone. I have a quick question. I had just passed my poker/blackjack dealing course in Tempe, AZ and have come out to San Diego to find a job. I am 21 years old, and other than that class and dealing home games, I have no real experience. Does anyone know where in San Diego or which casinos hire dealers with little experience or if any are hiring right now? Thanks for the help.

OCEANS 11 has a ton of idiot dealers. I see no reason why anyone couldnt fit in with that bunch.

Yeah man, Ocean's 11 is great. Everyone is super nice and i'm pretty sure they'll hire you without much experience. I'm sure you'll start the graveyard shift but it'll be worth it. It's my preferred place to play, I love ocean's.

Re: New Dealer looking for a job in San Diego
O'11 is probably the best run room in the poker world. Most of the dealers are excellent. The lame ones are the older women who can't adjust to NL, but they're in the minority, and it isn't the worst thing in the world to see employees taken care of as they age. Why it is that women don't age well as dealers while men do, I don't know, and it really isn't the point.
Tips are great there, even in the back room of little games where'll you'll have to start. This coming from me, a guy who has played in over 100 different poker rooms (I take a souvenir chip from every card room, and it's more than a rack's worth at this point). |

Re: New Dealer looking for a job in San Diego
With one notable exception and maybe a couple of others that are a bit lacking I have found the dealers at O11 to be quite competent.

[/ QUOTE ] Aside from one or two there, the quality of OE's dealers compares favorably to any other top room I've played in. As a whole, they're probably my favorite dealing staff and several of them are actually pretty good players (even a WSOP bracelet or two). They're all very friendly and they know how to run a good game. |

Re: New Dealer looking for a job in San Diego
1. Get in car , decently attired
2. Visit cardroom/casino 3. Observe the room for amount of business relative to time of day 4. Talk to some of the management types and dealers, get information, get a phone number Rinse Repeat Call or revisit the most promising and set up an interview/audition. Rinse Repeat |
