call the turn and river a diamond so you can fold, otherwise call unless an ace hits.

Re: am i looking at the nuts here???
I would have checked either the flop or turn right back at him, with the plan of calling the other two streets just in case it was AK or AQ or whatnot that he checked on the flop for some reason.
As played, I think you can fold to the turn checkraise. This particular donk-standard slowplay annoys me for some reason, and I hate rewarding it. (Or, in any case, I hate letting Villain actually get a checkraise in.) JJ is mathematically unlikely, but there's a really good chance that's what Villain has, and if it's not that, I think it's probably some other set. |

Re: am i looking at the nuts here???
Oops, somehow I missed the fact that the board is monotone. This makes the turn a little trickier since you have a flush draw and Villain may have a set.
But all of a sudden the nut flush just became a huge part of his range. I'm tempted to call because it would be sweet to river a flush and beat 66, but I'm not so confident about my "set" read anymore, now that I realize that a flush is the nuts. (As popular as this flop check is with a set among fish, I'm thinking they might hesitate a little to slowplay on a three-flush board. Or even if they wouldn't, it stands to reason that a flopped nut flush is a hand they'd make this play with as well the sets you frequently see when you encounter this play on more ordinary flops.) |

i was so close to checking the turn. i knew what was coming, but i was greedy and wanted value from AK [/ QUOTE ] In my experience, when the last preflop aggressor in an online game checks a flop in a HU or 3-way pot, one of two things is usually going on: (1) He loves his hand. (2) He's a passive player who missed the flop or hates the overcard(s) to his PP. Usually it's #1. And this Villain isn't passive. |

Re: am i looking at the nuts here???
i bet the flop, because they usually try to c/r the turn.
so bet flop, check turn, call river |
