100/200 vs aba
I've played with aba a pretty good amount. I think he respects my game and I certainly respect his a ton. I'm interested not only in the decision after he raises but also in what people think about my turn bet.
Full Tilt Poker No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $100/$200 5 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $21294 Hero: $19700 Button: $38232 SB: $80271.50 BB: $26083.50 Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is CO with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG folds, Hero raises to $700, Button calls, 2 folds. Flop: 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($1700, 2 players) Hero bets $1700, Button calls. Re: 100/200 vs aba
You strong turn bet when the scare card hits looks like fake strength to me, I can't see folding here. Lots of pair/gutshots, Tx diamonds.

Re: 100/200 vs aba
I think turn bet is pretty standard, and I think default is fold to the shove.
Do you think he'd ever raise A5/KT here hoping you'd see it as nuts or air and make a call with any ace? This is dependent on whether or not you fire the turn with a mediocre ace of course. |

Re: 100/200 vs aba
Ouch. If I had to guess I'd say your ahead here and to call the all-in. I think he raises flop a lot of the time with QJ, and repops you preflop with AK, AA, KK, and TT (as well as AA and TT being extremely unlikely) and those are the five main hands you are behind. You beat a flush draw, a flush draw + pair, a flush draw + straight draw, air, some smaller two pair, and AQ/AJ. You still lose to 55.

I doubt aba raises many hands on this flop, QJ included, and his preflop range is difficult to determine. One of the reasons why this is such a tough spot is because against many realistic ranges Stinger is making a huge mistake by calling. -Jeff |

Re: 100/200 vs aba
I'm sure he mixes up his preflop play a bit, but he must be pretty likely to reraise AK, AA, KK, TT there preflop leaving 55 ahead of you.
If he's behind you I would think either QdTd or JdTd are as likely as other hands which don't have much equity like KT or air. It seeming like he shouldn't be too surprised if you call tends to make me think this is a fold, but close, especially if it wouldn't be too shocking for him to not reraise a very strong hand preflop. |
